Lohia upgrades its converting machinery

H

aving added the automatic changeover feature on its Autoroto tape winder in 2007, India-based woven sack machinery producer Lohia Starlinger has sold 6,000 of these to date worldwide. Lohia also introduced an upgraded Baby Lofil HT, a yarn making machine for bag makers, at the K show in Germany last month.

The concept of automatic changeover on the Autoroto, from full bobbin to the start of a new one, is a feature that has captured processors interest around the globe. The tape is stretch broken from the full bobbin and transferred to the waiting tube to start a fresh package in one smooth motion, without any suction guns or waste.

The Autoroto is available in three sizes/models and can also be retrofitted on existing tape stretching lines. It produces equal length tape packages with different lengths that can be produced on up to four groups of bobbins at the same time. The advantages of having equal length tape packages in both circular and flat weaving are manifold and together with bag producers the company is able to provide customised solutions.

The company says that PP tape stretching speeds of up to 600 m/minute are possible. The tape produced is used for making heavy duty bags for cement packing, for instance.

An improvement of the previous model, the Baby LofilHT is a compact PP yarn making machine, as its name suggests, that occupies a footprint of 8.5 sq m. It delivers yarn ready to be used on conversion lines for bags. High tenacity yarn with up to 7 gpd yarn makes it possible to use lighter deniers and thus saves on raw material cost, says Lohia.

A new feature is the automatic changeover winding system for waste free, uninterrupted operation and hot plates for producing high tenacity yarn.
