New US lubricant base stocks plant
E
xxonMobil Chemical recently held a groundbreaking ceremony on its world-scale plant that will make 50,000 tonnes/year of synthetic lubricant base stocks. It is sited at the US company's integrated refining and chemical complex in Baytown, Texas.The new plant is expected to be completed in 2013 and will produce metallocene polyalphaolefin synthetic lubricant base stocks.
The Baytown complex is the largest integrated petroleum and petrochemical complex in the US.
