Rubber industry on a fast track

THROUGH upstream R&D activities, Malaysia’s rubber industry will continue to expand its production with a target of reaching an output of 2 million tonnes of natural rubber and contributing RM52.9 billion to the country’s coffers by 2020. New resins for thermoset systems
sabic

Thermoset systems for coatings, adhesives and PCBs are now augmented with Sabic Innovative Plastics’s Noryl SA90 and SA9000 additives for epoxy and non-epoxy systems, especially composites and coatings, electrical adhesives, copper-coated laminates and pre-pregs.

Aside from the improvement of the function, it can also decrease the cost, says the firm. The newly improved materials are the answers to the requirements of the Printed Circuit Boards or PCBs and the search for systems that can lower the cost.

Meanwhile, Sabic says it has enhanced its Noryl PPO by modifying its chemistry to create low molecular weight, bi-functional oligomers that deliver an improved balance of low dielectric constant and loss factor, increased toughness and higher thermal reliability, thus providing better moisture stability, more consistent dielectrics, and less loading of non-halogenated flame retardants (FR).
