Rubber industry on a fast track

THROUGH upstream R&D activities, Malaysia’s rubber industry will continue to expand its production with a target of reaching an output of 2 million tonnes of natural rubber and contributing RM52.9 billion to the country’s coffers by 2020. The introduction of an automatic rubber tapping system, roll out of mobile service applications and rubber yield programmes are all expected to help upgrade the sector, said Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) Director-General Datuk Dr Salmiah Ahmad, in an interview with PRA recently.

Priamus offers cost benefit analysis
Priamus

Switzerland-headquartered Priamus, a provider of monitoring, control and regulation systems for injection moulding is offering a cost-benefit-analysis system.

The software will show the potential annual savings or return of investment (ROI) for a given part and this can be calculated by entering the required parameters. The system also controls scrap and rejects.

The new version of the cost-benefit-analysis, which also runs on Windows 7 64-bit, can be downloaded for free from the company’s website.
