Fibre composites testing centre in Germany

erman machinery supplier KraussMaffei has opened what it says is the world's most versatile TechCenter for lightweight parts and fibre composites technology, complete with reaction processing machinery, situated adjacent to its injection moulding centre.The company says the centre gives it the capability to identify the best process solution for its customers and to conduct practical tests on both the processes and the parts produced.
The 1,900-sq m RPM hall houses 11 reaction processing machines and installations for all kinds of production processes, including one of the largest RTM systems worldwide.
It also boasts more than 15 injection moulding machines selected from the full KraussMaffei machinery spanning the clamping range of 35 to 40,000 tonnes.
The centre will be able to cater to opportunities afforded by integrated KraussMaffei process solutions, such as SkinForm for creating soft-touch surfaces and C.A.S.E. for applying sealant and adhesive beads to parts direct.
