Haitian sells less but makes more

C

hina's largest machine maker Haitian sold 27,000 injection machines in 2011, compared with 30,000 in 2010 but said the average selling price in 2011 increased 10%, thereby increasing its revenue to RMB7 billion, up 4% compared to 2010.

Due to higher sales of its energy saving machines Mars and all-electric Venus its export sales by 17.3%, from RMB1.6 billion in 2010 to RMB1.9 billion in 2011. As a result of its cost-cutting and control measures, it was able to achieve a gross profit margin of 29.7%.

According to the company, despite the tightening measures of the Chinese government, including measures to fight inflation in China and ongoing uncertainties in the outlook of the global economy, it was able to maintain a "close-to-record-level" of sales and set a new record profit in its corporate history.
