Mamata expands Indian facility
T

o cater to the demand for its machines, India-based converting equipment supplier Mamata Machinery will move to a larger facility by April this year, said company spokesperson Sanjay Amin. Mamata exhibited a dual-lane bag making machine and a stand-up pouch maker able to form pouches of any shape at the Plastindia recently.

The group, made up of extrusion machinery maker Mamata Extrusions, will occupy a 450,000 sq ft facility in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, with the converting equipment section to take up 120,000 sq ft, according to Amin.

At the Plastindia show in February, the company displayed its Vega 1200 Split, a dual-draw roll bag maker, with dual servodriven-index and dual pneumatic-assisted dancers. With this technology, the machine is able to process two printed bags in two different sizes simultaneously. The line is available with dual-lane bags of up to 590 mm width in each or single-lane bags up of to 1,200 mm.

The company also displayed its Vega 610 pouch maker producing stand-up pouches in any shape from two-up folded film from a single master web. Mamata demonstrated punching technology to form shapes made possible by control over the web movement in the X and Y directions.
