Südpack reinforces printing expertise with acquisition of Polish printer

Germany-based rigid/flexible packaging maker Südpack is extending its capacity in the printing area by having acquired Polish company Bahpol, located in Klobuck, Poland, near Czestochowa. The latter is said to have developed into one of the most successful companies for high-quality packaging decoration in more than 20 years. Terms were not disclosed.

"This well-established company specialising in flexo printing is extending our performance capability,” said Johannes Remmele, Managing Shareholder of the Südpack Group. "We can now serve our international customers even better." This takeover draws attention to the international growth goals of the Südpack Group.

Bahpol has flexographic printing expertise with a range of advanced print machinery and was the first in Poland to offer its HD flexo technology. Remmele went on to say that the company has all the packaging refinements and is equipped with modern machinery, "the quality of both the production process and product quality meet our requirements". Bahpol supplies a wide range of laminates, foil bags and biodegradable packaging.

Privately-owned Südpack, which celebrated its 50th anniversary last year, specialises in the production of rigid and flexible film and bag conversion, with facilities in France, Switzerland and Germany, employs 1,100 and achieved sales of EUR340 million in 2014.
