SPE to hold first Asian conference, in Japan
US-based Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) will hold what it calls its first Asiatec seminar, similar to the bi-annual Antec held in the US, in Tokyo from 15-17 February 2011.

To take place at the Big Sight exhibition centre in Tokyo, it will consist of presentations on cutting edge technologies in a wide range of industry sectors, just like Antec, says SPE.

SPE is soliciting for original papers in the following areas: Nanotechnology, Composites for Automobiles, Packaging Products, Green Plastics and Biomass Plastics, Medical Plastics and Bioplastics, Polymer Processing, Engineering Properties and Structure, Thermoplastic Elastomers, Optics and Optical Devices, and Life-Support Plastics.

Prospective presenters are to submit preliminary abstracts, in English, by 1 October, via the website:  http://web.mac.com/msainst/spe/ASIATEC2011.html
